In this 3 minute video I share tips on how to get ready for your session:
- 30”: Prepping Your Focus (topics & questions)

- 1’49”: Prepping Your Heart & Mind (being receptive & open)
Since this is a different type of experience for many of my new clients, I want to make sure you feel ease-filled and comfortable. In this blog post, I share more about choosing the topics you most want to explore in your session and how to craft your questions in a way that will help you get what you need. At the end, you’ll find a summary of my Top 7 Tips to remember before your 1:1 Insight Session.
What Do I Ask About?
Think of an Insight Session like one of those catch-up calls with a longtime friend you haven’t spoken with in a while: There’s no way to fit it all in during the first reconnection. You just have to trust that what is most wanting to be shared will come through.
First, scan your life and consider these different areas that clients explore in sessions:
- Family, Friends & Love Relationships
- Health & Wellbeing
- Financial & Other Energy Flows
- Life’s Work & Career
- Life’s Purpose & Spirituality
Your life is an integrated whole, but which one (or two) of these are drawing your attention? Maybe there is one area where…
- You’ve got a big decision to make
- You have strong feelings or chronic patterns (self-judgment? frustration? anger? self-doubt? repeating issues or illness or injury?)
- It’s already asking for a lot of your energy
- There is current upset or even crisis
- There is current momentum or opportunity.
…And How Do I Ask About It?
Before you think about crafting a specific question, tune in to the intention in your heart. This is the clearest guide to shape your question.
For example, if you are experiencing conflict with your work team, what is the intention in your heart about this?
- Is it to feel closer and more connected to these people?
- Is it to never face this conflict again?
- Is it to lean into the conflict and learn as much as you can about yourself and others?
- Is it to learn how to navigate conflict more fluidly with grace?
- Is it to do your highest and best work as a connected team, or maybe even to pull off a major event together in one month?
You can see how these subtlety different intentions – even though they are all related to the same experience – could give rise to different questions. If you simply ask ‘What do I do about this work team conflict?’, it does not take into consideration the intention you have for this experience. In contrast, if you ask: ‘What would most help my team to strengthen relationships so we can do our best work?’, you are asking for support for what you most want.
Go General or Go Specific?
Here’s an example of the “go general” option. I have this delightful tradition with a tight circle of girlfriends that we draw oracle cards on special occasions like birthdays and on trips. We easily spend hours playing with different decks and supporting each other to drink in all the guidance we can get. One of my friends has a favorite question: ‘God, what do you most want me to know now?’ Inevitably, the card she receives resonates with her and gives her a general theme to focus on that she finds quite satisfying.
And then there’s the “go specific” option… For me as an Akashic Records Practitioner the more specific a question – and the more it reflects your intentions – the more I am able to tap into helpful information that is precise and detailed for you. Of course, I welcome your more general questions. But just know that I’m likely to dialogue with you to make sure that what you are getting is giving you what you truly want in order to complete the session with more clarity.
Is the Parking Brake Still On?
I do encourage more broad questions when they act as a general scan of the situation to help you pinpoint where action or healing energy would help. This is like asking: ‘Hey, I’m pressing the gas but I’m not going anywhere. Is the parking brake still on?’
An example of a general question to address this situation is: ‘Is there anything I need to clear or shift that is interfering with me getting what I want in this situation?’ Or: ‘What is limiting my view of or progress on this subject?’ This kind of question could lead you to understand a broader perspective or an underlying vow or something outside of you that is interfering, such as an individual or an inter-generational pattern. Then we can work on clearing that interference.
When possible, we want to get to the root of a situation – to the original event – and dissolve its impacts on you today. To do that I will often offer several optional processes. Together we can feel into which feels best.
Not Predictive. Not Prescriptive.
There are a few fundamental things to remember:
- The energy that makes up the Akasha (Sanskrit for “the basis or essence of all things in the material world”) is Love. When I say I “love you up” in a session, I mean I am streaming the energy and wisdom available that is infused with the immense love there is for YOU.
- Sessions are always intended to support your free will. There are never ‘must do's. We access information but ultimately you choose your actions.
- Many potential future paths are possible at all times. The possibility of different paths and timing is shifting all the time, impacted by many, many different elements and actors. Time is not linear. Information you might receive about timelines can always be in flux.
Everything Has Records
While we tend to speak about accessing an individual’s Akashic Records, there are energetic transcripts for projects, groups, organizations, communities, places, topics, animal kingdoms, etc. We will likely start by opening your personal Records but, time permitting, we can also access the records for any of these, especially if your most pressing individual questions are related to these. For example, I often open my own Records and the Records of the entity Rise To Your Vision or the Rise To Your Vision Community to guide me in the development of our offerings and teachings.
In Summary…
Tip #1: Focus on an area of life calling for your attention.
Tip #2: Tune in to your heartfelt intention related to the topic first. Then craft your question.
Tip #3: Questions can be general or specific, but the more specific they are, the more likely you are to receive what you are seeking.
Tip #4: General questions can be useful to scan for interferences to address, so we can get to the root, and then to the resolution.
Tip #5: It all comes from love, supports your free will, and can shift at any time.
Tip #6: Accessing the Records of a group, project, or organization can also support you to answer your questions.
Tip #7: Lean into the support of your Akashic Records Advanced Practitioner and Master Healer – me!
I always hold the intention that all of your unseen friends and loved ones are present to guide us and that the issues, needs, and potential that are most important are immediately made clear so that together we can work to the highest level of resolution and upliftment possible.
Let’s do this! Let’s love you up and help you to rise to your vision!
